Earth Wisdom Farm is a 40 acre farm and homestead in Red Wing, Minnesota, an hour southeast of the twin cities. We use regenerative farming practices to grow grass, maintain pasture, and feed animals and ourselves.
Call it permaculture, regenerative agriculture, sustainable farming, soil building, solar-grass farming, or whatever you want. Our practices are predicated on increasing diversity and resilience in animals and plants, decreasing off-farm inputs, and maintaining a landscape that is resilient across seasons, through storms, and despite a changing climate. Rotational grazing, leader follower techniques, multi-species grazing, long resting periods, organic and non-gmo feeds, low (to no) grain feeding, and many other techniques are all included in our list of practices.
About the Animals
We strive to provide our animals with the ability to make as many of their own choices as possible: free to move about, free to forage, free to socialize.
Our animals are handled as gently as we would handle our pets. Their interactions with the landscape inform our management and not the other way around.
