In 2019 we’re using two different breeds of pigs: A durroc-berkshire-hampshire cross which will live in the forest edge and open up more pasture land as they root.  They work as bulldozers to rough up the soil organically.  This allows us to follow behind them with any number of seeds.  We’re also experimenting with all-forage breed of pig which, we hope, will require no ration of grain to grow fat and happy.

We’re so excited to see the Idaho Pasture Pig in action!
